About Me and My Work
What kinds of projects, tasks, or challenges do you typically partner with nonprofits on?
At Risk Alternatives LLC, our mission is to make communities stronger by building sustainable, agile nonprofits at all levels. Applying modern risk management and process improvement methods, we build nonprofits that can thrive in good times and bad. We have both group and coaching engagements to serve teams and leaders. We provide strategic planning, risk management, lean process implementation, executive coaching, and governance consulting based on the Standards for Excellence.
Why would someone choose to work with you?
- I have decades of experience counseling nonprofits dealing with mergers, board challenges, strategic planning, risk management, and best practices support. I also have a strong professional background (Harvard Law School, Distinguished Visiting Professor at Georgetown Law Center, American Law Institute member).
- I wrote the book Managing Your Nonprofit for Resilience (Wiley 2023), which sets out a blueprint for managing nonprofits in times of substantial uncertainty.
- I am proudly licensed by the Standards for Excellence Institute to assist nonprofit organizations in improving their accountability and commitment to best practices.
