About Me and My Work

What kinds of projects, tasks, or challenges do you typically partner with nonprofits on?
I assist small-shop nonprofit clients who seek practical, action-oriented solutions in governance and operations.

Are your board members spending more time at board meetings talking about the signature drink at your upcoming cocktail event rather than addressing the organization’s lack of diversified funding or other gaps areas? As an Executive Director, are you asked to achieve the impossible with little to no resources or tools? Are your employees burned out and overburdened? Has your organization been around for 20 years and yet still offers the same programs and operations?

Organizational Assessment and Capacity-Building Consultant
Interim Director/Change Manager
Trusted adviser/executive coach for Executive Directors
Crisis or Conflict Management Consulting
Board and Staff Training - team building, governance, fundraising
Board Retreats
Strategic Plan and fundraising plan development
Why would someone choose to work with you?
I am an experienced executive director of the largest rape crisis agency in the southeast united states. I am also a licensed attorney (South Carolina), professional fundraiser, and skilled workshop facilitator. I have more than sixteen years of experience in nonprofit leadership development, strategic planning, and operational efficiency with specializations in change management and relationship building for startup and small nonprofits. My passion is supporting nonprofit leaders as a thought partner and practical and strategic advisor to build capacity to dream your nonprofits' visions into reality.
Key words and additional details
I helped a client through an executive leadership transition, and they are now thriving with leadership that has remained for more than 7 years.

I investigated a conflict between executive leadership and the board of directors, which could have led to the ED's termination. Instead, I mediated the immediate issues, facilitated the rebuilding of relationships, and revised organizational policies and process to prevent future conflict. The board is now utilizing best practice in governance, fulfilling their legal and fiduciary duties, raising more funds for programming than ever before, and supporting the executive director in her role.

From a client: “Ginny has the heart of a social worker and the business savvy of the highest-performing executive, which gives her a unique ability to truly understand both a non-profit’s mission and its underlying operations. Ginny had the vision and the talent to drive our organization to the next level. From board development and fundraising to operational management and communications planning, Ginny offers a keen perspective and delivers results for anyone lucky enough to work with her!”
