About Me and My Work

What kinds of projects, tasks, or challenges do you typically partner with nonprofits on?
I primarily work with organizations who are navigating significant transitions. Core to that are principles of effective collaboration. Often that looks like organizational change - combinations (mergers, parent-subsidiary, MSOs, etc.), strategic sunsetting (dissolution), and other types of restructuring or leadership transitions.

I use models and approaches that are tried and true while customizing each project. I work on a set fee basis and provide transparency and flexibility in what I call an "eyes wide open approach." When you're navigating change, it's challenging enough, so my role is to be the calm in the storm, communicate clearly and transparently, and help you make informed decisions about your organization. You own the future of your nonprofit, I can help hold the process.
Why would someone choose to work with you?
Opening up the conversation about a major shift - whether merging with another organization or strategically sunsetting your own - is hard. If I’ve learned anything in the last 39 years, it’s that doing a hard thing can also mean doing the right thing. So if you’re envisioning something beyond what’s right in front of you - ask yourself: “Where would we go if we weren’t afraid of how to get there?”
I bring both technical skills and a deeply empathetic approach to change. Mapping out how to get there is just as important as navigating the feelings, politics, relationships, culture, and conflicts that arise in any transition. I can move projects along while holding space for whatever emerges in an evidence-based and principled way.
